The Final Countdown: One Week Until Conference - Week 23
I’m now sitting at my desk, writing the 23rd weekly recap since arriving in America. It’s hard to believe how much has happened in that time and how much I’ve learned along the way. Looking back, I’m really grateful that I started writing these blogs—I don’t regret it for a second. They help me process each week, reflect on the highs and lows, and appreciate the journey. And to think it's only a week until the last competition for this season is mind boggling.
This past week has been fairly normal, mostly filled with school and training. I’ve also been selling some gear I received from the golf team, which has been a nice way to make a little extra cash. I’m currently looking into doing something fun with it, but I won’t spoil the surprise just yet. If you keep up with these posts, you’ll definitely find out soon enough. Stay curious.
As for swimming, this was our last regular meet before conference, and while it wasn’t my best performance, I feel like it was a decent setup for what’s coming next. Conference is just around the corner, and I have to admit—I’m both excited and a little nervous. I really want to perform well, but I can’t shake the thought: What if my body isn’t enough? I wish I could say I’ve been bringing my A-game to every practice, but I know I haven’t. That needs to change. With one week left, it’s time to lock in, sharpen my focus, and fine-tune my races—especially my butterfly. I can't allow myself to die in the last lap.
With that, another week is in the books. Now, it’s time for the final stretch of preparation. Let’s make it count.
